The 5th annual Skitrip - January 2003 ... Holiday Valley as always. It was cosy in the double-wide and fortunately Chris and Vern did not kill each other over playing cards ...
Holiday Valley had no idea what was about to hit them ...
Jules, Sarah,
Angie, Moira, Sebastian and lobsterman
drove down to "The Big Easy". There is not enough space
to tell the stories, there are bead necklaces around and apparently
they were earned ... We stopped at Graceland in TN on the way
down and Mammoth Caves in KY on the way back.
The East-Coast Nerve Net Meeting Roadtrip - April 7-9, 2000
Thursday midnight
Sarah, Jules, Xia, Mooi, Sebastian and Robert took a van for the
long ride to Woods Hole, MA, to attend the 26th annual East Coast
Nerve Net Meeting at the Marine Biological Laboratory. Ali and
Amy went separately as they stayed a few extra days in bean town.
The meeting involved aggravation of Sarah's shoulder due to radical
dancing moves with Ed at the Poster Party. The margaruitas claimed
Jules who locked out his room mate at 3am, Alisdair was close
to punching the dude for trying to wake Jules with loud banging
on the room door, and a good time was had by all. The long trip
back saw us brave the elements in a freak snowstorm that fazed
everybody except Captain Jules.
On April 1st, Angie took Lisa, Adam, Sarah, Jules, Xia and Robert to her alma mater of Ohio Northern University in Ada where the Ohio Academy of Sciences held its 109th annual meeting. We were present with 5 much lauded posters that took up a most of the real estate there :-)
Even better than
the first ...
What a blast. Jules
organised a trip of the lab to Holiday Valley in upstate New York
and a great time was had all around. Just for our enjoyment he
had payed off the Weather gods for sunshine, he bribed the snow
gods for lots of white stuff and the rest was under our own control.
Jules, Angie, Mooi and Sebastian arrived from BG, Rick and Sophie
met us there from Boston. Sophie and Angie sliced the slopes into
little trembling slivers, Jules and I walled somewhat less than
"in style", Rick cruised effortless and Mooi showed
off her pretty moves. We hope to have started a tradition for
many years to come.
