2/25/05 The first 4 sections of prairie (~12 acres) were seeded using a Truax Flex II no-till drill with 7" disc spacing (Wynn Brinker, Wood Co. Chapter, Pheasants Forever).

Wood County Prairie Mix (OWCP01) from Ohio Prairie Nursery planted at the lowest drill setting (~1000 seeds/m2) with hand seeding of additional forbes obtained from Guy Denny, Chris Smalley (Wood Co Parks District), Jeremy Ross (BGSU-Biology), and through personal collections. 8/14/05 Inspection: 2005a-d. many prairie forbes have come up, including Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta), Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), Partridge Pea (Chamaecrista fasciculata), Canada Wild Rye (Elymus canadensis), Grey-headed Coneflower (Ratibida pinnata), Ox Eye Sunflower (Heliopsis helianthoides), and Stiff Goldenrod (Solidago rigida) - but so have ragweed, foxtails, thistle, shepherd's purse, cocklebur, velvet leaf and horseweed.

10/1/05 harvest of remaining 15 acres of soybean field completed, started prep for winter seeding of prairie and spring planting of wind break
