Assignment
- Choose a disease you are
interested in and assess symptoms, population rates, etc. Search the
primary literature for genetic factors that have been linked to the
disease. Explore current status on causes and therapy approaches.
Perform a search for the suspected disease genes using the ortholog
prediction tool to see whether other experimental animal models feature
a close version of the gene. Consider whether an experimental approach
using one of these other species as an alternate model may be able to
address the topic in new ways. Summarize your findings in ~500 words and
send to <lobsterman.bgsu@gmail.com> by 3/4/19. 10% of course
grade.
